History
Lightning Audio was created in 1992, and immediately hit the jackpot with it's then revolutionary capacitors. Lightning Caps became a hot-commodity, and the company quickly moved into new areas of the market. Lightning Audio was voted an Inc. 500 company in 1997. We now sell speakers, amplifiers, batteries, and everything in between.
Lightning amps and speakers are our newest products to market, finally reaching the original dream of the Insane Install, with Lightning Audio running all the way through the car. Our new Jetta Demo Vehicle is our ritualistic tribute to our achievement, our war cry as you hear us thumping through your town.
Lightning Audio has always prided itself by working on quality competition-grade car audio gear, and setting the trends that the industry follows. By combining the highest quality design, engineering and R & D they constantly patent and release new technologies to increase performance, making installs even more insane, but not insane prices, prices, prices.
Products
Lightning Audio started out with capacitors back in the day, but we now stock everything from one end of the system to the other. From batteries to speakers, the only things we don't make(yet) are audio decks and cars. Many companies imitate but few innovate. Lightning puts its money where it's mouth is by experimenting with new designs, new ideas to revolutionize the market of car audio. And we continually improve performance and design features. Our newest Strike SVC Sub woofers can take 50% more power than when they first came out.Our newest models offer more power and stability than our older products. We integrate new technologies and refine concepts to perfection. "Our Strike woofers have become very popular in just the two years the line has been available," explains Mark Bruno, Lightning's sales manager. "Our redesigned DVC models for 2002 are designed to work even better in small sealed enclosures and are a 'step up' in the product line."
This year we're bringing out new versions of our Strike Amplifiers, Strike Sub woofers, a new battery, temperature meters and more.
Our commitment to competition grade audio has made us a favorite of competitors and those who just want good looking equipment that works even better.
Design
Some people may look at our style and wonder 'what the hell do people hanging by hooks have to do with car audio'. Why? Because we're insane about car audio. We'll do whatever it takes to get what we want. We like it extreme, we like it loud, and we don't want it to stop. We want to freak you out. We want you to hear us and see us and go,' man,that's wild'. Our video, our photography, our design is all made to reflect how crazy we are about it. We stay up at night for thinking about it.
Go to a dB drag event or IASCA final and listen to our sound. Or better yet, buy our stuff and find out for yourself.
If your mom doesn't like it, then well, we don't have a complaints department like that. We don't care.
